Why Tinubu can sleep soundly with Wike on his team

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has linked President Bola Tinubu’s “peace of mind” directly to the tangible achievements of the current administration. Speaking to residents in Abuja, Wike asserted that the visible progress being made across the nation’s capital and the country at large is exactly why the President can sleep soundly, confidently challenging critics to deny the positive impact of the government’s reforms.

He spoke during the official inauguration of Arterial Road N5 in Abuja on Wednesday.

Wike said that if good leadership and reforms are the true measures of electoral success, then the Tinubu administration has already made a strong impression in the Federal Capital Territory.

He said: “If we truly believe that good governance is what will make people want to bring you back to office, then I don’t think Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu should be sleeping with one eye open. No, he should sleep with both eyes closed.

“I challenge anyone in this FCT to come forward and say they do not feel the presence of government or see its impact.

“When we were working on this road, and thank God it is good to come out and see what is happening instead of staying in the office, Julius Berger was facing a challenge.

“The community said the company would not proceed with the road project because they had not been compensated for the demolition.”
