Osun Election: I’m heading to Aso Rock to see Pres. Tinubu so that we can dance together. I’m like his son — Gov. Adeleke

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has described his relationship with President Bola Tinubu as cordial, recounting a friendly conversation they had following his victory in the Osun State governorship election.

Adeleke said Tinubu called him after the election and congratulated him on his victory. He added that he regards the President as a father figure and that they joked about the election during the conversation.

“I got a call and it was a very friendly call. He called me because I see him as a father. So he said, ‘Mr Governor, what’s going on? How is the election going?’ I said, ‘Ah, your son is cruising to victory.’ I mean, I’ve won and all that. So we just joked about it and everything.”

He said Tinubu congratulated him and acknowledged the outcome of the election.

“He just told me, ‘Oh, congratulations. Democracy has been played.’ And he said congratulations.”

The governor said he looked forward to meeting Tinubu, adding that whenever they meet, the President usually asks him about his dancing.

“Anytime he sees me, he says, ‘How is the dance going?’ I say, ‘It’s going very well. In fact, I’ll come and see you so that we can do one or two steps.’ And he just said congratulations.”

Adeleke added, “So I really appreciate him.”
