A Final Climb: Popular Yemeni Daredevil 'Spider-Man' Meets Tragic End at Volcanic Crater

A wave of grief has swept across social media following the tragic death of Yemen’s iconic free-climber, affectionately known to millions as the country’s real-life ‘Spider-Man.’ The fearless athlete met his untimely end after losing his footing and falling during a daring ascent of a treacherous volcanic crater.

The social media stuntman, who had gained popularity online for his daring and unassisted climbs inside deep craters, was attempting another risky descent when the accident occurred on June 12. He was reportedly climbing the 120-metre volcanic formation without safety gear or professional equipment.

According to reports, he lost his footing during the stunt and fell inside the crater. Despite efforts to get him help, rescue teams were unable to reach the scene in time, and he was confirmed dead from his inj¥ries.

Al-Qa’qa’ bin Antar had built a following over time for performing extreme climbing feats in hazardous environments, often without ropes or protective measures. While his videos attracted admiration from fans, locals had previously raised concerns about the dangers of his activities and the lack of safety precautions.
