HUGE BREAKTHROUGH: US lifts naval blockade as Iranian ships pass Strait of Hormuz

In a massive step toward easing global tensions, five Iranian vessels—including three oil tankers and two ships carrying essential goods—have successfully transited the critical waterway.

The movement follows a major breakthrough where the US and Iran finalized a peace memorandum of understanding (MoU) to end the conflict, prompting President Donald Trump to order the immediate removal of the anti-Iran naval blockade

IRGC stated this on Tuesday noting that the lifting of the blockade had become operational.

This came a few hours after the US military said in an advisory note that the blockade of Iranian ports remains in effect pending the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Iran scheduled for June 19.

Recalls that the US had imposed a naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz in April, preventing ships traveling to and from Iranian ports from transiting the waterway.

Iran, the United States and Pakistan announced early Monday the finalisation of the MoU on ending the war, following weeks of negotiations, which would be officially signed on Friday in Switzerland.

Following the announcement, US President Donald Trump ordered the lifting of the anti-Iran naval blockade.
