Microsoft Office – Download – Microsoft Office 2007 Overview
Looking for:
Install Office
I have an Office Enterprise Student and Faculty program that I have been using and installing on various PC’s with no trouble at all. But, in trying to install on a new Dell Windows 10, It is refusing my product key, is asking for 25 digit Product Key. Does anybody have any ideas?
Funny thing is, I first tried a refurbished Dell off eBay with Windows 10 installed and had no problem at all installing my Office But, that bargain PC did not work, was too unstable to make use of, so I had to return it. So, I bit the bullet and ordered a brand new Dell Inspiron 24 all-in-one. But, now I am having the issues I have stated. So, if you install and try to activate your own copy of Office the activation process actually submits your key to the factory trial.
This will not work. Product key with 23 char. I have never heard of such a creature. But if you have a 23 char code that works, more power to you.
Try it again after uninstalling the factory trial. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. Thank you. Yes, I was using the incorrect key number. Finally found the correct key, but still got the error. So, I went to Microsoft and downloaded.
When I opened the first Office app, it told me I had exceeded my installs and go read all those legal things I accepted at some time, or call a number. I will call, just don’t see how I shouldn’t be able to install a program I have paid for, no matter how many times. With this install, I would have 4 installs until I clean off the old computer once I have Office successfully installed on the new one. Not sure what I will try, if a phone call doesn’t give my any satisfaction.
I will report what happens. I may try as you suggested. I know that I do not want the version. If I have to, I would rather buy another version of either or for this new computer. If it says you have “too many installs” the problem is that the activation system does not recognize you have uninstalled from the old machine. When you uninstall from a computer, there is no notification sent to the MS activation system. So they sometimes let it slip, but eventually say you have “too many installs”.
At that time you have to make personal contact with MS. You will have to talk to someone at MS, but not at the normal support phone contacts. When you phone in, do NOT reply to the initial prompt for a “Product ID” if you do, you will just get the same error message. WAIT, a long time, until you are offered the option of talking to a live “service” rep. Explain that you have uninstalled from the old computer and are transferring the license to a new computer.
They should then allow the activation to complete. If they still say no, ask to speak to a supervisor. As long as you know for sure that you are following the install limits for your license, no more than 2 computers, then they cannot say you have installed “too many times”.
There is no limit in the license terms on the number of times you re-install or transfer to new computers. There is a 90 day minimum between transfers to new computers, but you have not said anything that indicates that limit applies. The version of Office , available on the MS Office backup download site are only for full retail version Keys.
Thank You, Microsoft!! Just to let any readers of this post know, that MS now has made the phone method of activating the product automated and easy. Once those are checked, I was given a new group of numbers to key into the blanks at the activation window, giving ample opportunity to check and double check, and write the numbers down for further use.
I was asked how many computers I currently had. I guess that needs to match before it proceeds to the numbers process. I am actually in the process of installing onto a 4th computer, but will be removing from the computer I am replacing shortly.
Thank you to whomever told there is a 90 day allowance for moving to a replacement computer. Also, I did download Office by using my Key number, because the pre-installed trial version of Office interfered with installing from my disks. I though I just might take a look at the Office before taking it off the new computer.
Are you saying that the phone activation worked without service rep intervention? I need to know so that I can provide your answer to other people with similar problems. As far as I know, Enterprise only allows you to install on 2 machines at the same time I could be wrong, I have not seen those specific license terms. You should also be able to transfer those 2 installations to new machines with at least 90 days BETWEEN transfers not a 90 day overlap! If you activate on the new machine first you should get the “too many” installations error.
If you do that sort of overlapping activation too many times there is a chance that MS will think your key has been hacked and distributed so they could block it. Then you are up a creek without a paddle. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. If I try to install without entering the Product Key, I get an error and installation halts. This thread is locked.

In reply to PhyllisStockstill’s post on May 23, A retail version of Office may be installed concurrently on two PCs and may be transferred subsequently. If the auto validation doesn’t work, you may validate by telephone.
A later version of Office present on the PC will interfere with the validation process and so, as has already been said, later versions must be uninstalled before attempting to install Office At that time you have to make personal contact with MS You will have to talk to someone at MS, but not at the normal support phone contacts. Palcouk Volunteer Moderator. Something in your story is not right. You say you have Enterprise, that is no longer available to download from MS, unless possibly you have an MSDN account The version of Office , available on the MS Office backup download site are only for full retail version Keys.
The system prompts for the groups of numbers provided at the Office activation window. Thanks to all for you helpful information. This site in other languages x.
